Road Closure Advisory: 39 North Pole, Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade

City of Sparks recently issued the following announcement.

Please be advised of the following road closures this weekend for the City of Sparks Christmas Holiday activities including the 39 North Pole event, Sparks Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Hometowne Christmas Parade events.

Closures include:

39 North Pole ­­– Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2:30 a.m. to Sunday, Dec. 5, 11 p.m.

  • Parking around the Victorian Plaza
  • Avenue of the Oaks will be closed in front of the Galaxy theater for one block east and one block west.

Tree Lighting Closures – Friday, Dec. 3, 5 to 8 p.m.

  • WESTBOUND ONLY Victorian Avenue CLOSED at 11th to just East of the Plaza

Parade Road Closures – Saturday, Dec. 4, 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Victorian Avenue from Pyramid Highway to 14TH Street, both directions
  • 2021 HomeTown Christmas Parade (non-parade hours) Press Release Road Closure Map 11.22.2021
Rolling closures:

  • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Parade staging: Pyramid Highway to 4th Street from Prater Way to Victorian Avenue
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – WESTBOUND Victorian Avenue from 4th Street to 14th Street
  • 12 to 4 p.m. – EASTBOUND I-80 Pyramid Highway OFF RAMP
    • EASTBOUND I-80 Rock Boulevard ON RAMP
    • SOUTHBOUND Pyramid Highway from Prater Way to I-80
  • 1 to 4 p.m. – EASTBOUND Victorian Avenue at 15TH Street
    • NORTHBOUND 14TH Street at Nugget Avenue

Thursday, Dec. 2

39 North Pole: Light Displays, entertainment and outdoor bazaar, 4 to 9 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 3

39 North Pole, 4 to 9 p.m.

Tree Lighting Ceremony, 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, December 4

39 North Pole, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
