City of Reno recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Reno is making it easier than ever for residents to pay their sewer bills by expanding its online and phone offerings.
Individuals who call the City’s sewer phone line at 775-334-2095 will now hear an automated, interactive voice response (IVR), giving them the options to hear their account balance, pay their bill, and more. There is also an option to hear the automated message in Spanish. If users prefer to bypass the automated message, they may simply press “0” to be directed to a City sewer representative.
“At the City of Reno, we create approximately 1,000 new sewer accounts every year–consistent with the rapid growth of our city,” said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. “Our new IVR system helps customers take care of simple requests like paying their sewer bills, quickly and efficiently. It also aids in shorter hold times for residents who need to talk to a live City representative for more involved services such as setting up a new account or stopping services.”
The City has also launched a new, Online Billpay website where residents can seamlessly pay their sewer bills, sign up for text and email reminders, and easily manage multiple accounts. The website content is also available in Spanish.
Data from the previous website for functions such as autopay has been securely migrated to the new site; however, customers will need to reset their passwords upon signing in to the new website.
“Currently, there are approximately 34,000 online sewer accounts at the City of Reno, while over 77,000 active sewer accounts exist,” said Reno City Manager Doug Thornley. “Online accounts pave the way for more paperless billing, reducing the environmental impact. They also reduce the chances of missed payments as customers can opt-in to receive email and text reminders.”
For further support, the City of Reno’s sewer customer service team can be reached via email at renosewer@reno.gov or by phone at 775-334-2095 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
