The Sparks City Council held a special meeting on June 24, 2022, to canvass the votes of the 2022 primary election. Council declared the results of the 2022 primary election official and confirmed the candidates for the 2022 general election.
Per Sparks City Charter, the names of the two candidates who received the highest number of votes at the primary election are placed on the ballot for the general election. For Municipal Court Judge Department 1, the candidates are:
Robert Delong
Shirle Eiting
Sparks City Charter also dictates that if no more than twice the number of candidates to be elected have filed for nomination for an office, the names of those candidates are not placed on the primary ballot but directly on the general election ballot.
The following candidates have been placed on the ballot for the general city election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022:
Sparks Mayor:
Christine "Chris" Garvey
Ed Lawson
Sparks City Council Ward 2:
John "Johnny” Eastwick
Dian Vanderwell
Sparks City Council Ward 4:
Charlene Bybee
Damon Harrell
Nevada Revised Statute 293 mandates the Sparks City Council must certify the results within 10 days of the election.
