Next week, the Nugget Casino Resort is hosting the Best in the West Rib Cook Off. Below is detailed road closure information from Aug. 27 to Sept. 8, including set-up times for the event.
Saturday, Aug. 27 from 12:15 a.m. to Thursday, Sept. 8 at 6:00 a.m.
- Victorian Avenue from Pyramid Highway to Victorian Plaza Circle (west side)
- Victorian Plaza Circle (east) from Avenue of the Oaks to Nugget Avenue
- Avenue of the Oaks, in front of the Galaxy Theater, to one block east and one block west
- 10th Street from south of Avenue of the Oaks from the alleyway to Victorian Avenue
- Victorian Plaza Circle east at Nugget Avenue gated with security – entrance for registered participants for Show and Shine only
- Sparks Heritage Museum parking lot is closed to the public, space is available for museum volunteers and patrons only
Free Self-Parking: Public Parking is available to the public at the following locations:
- Nugget’s West Parking lot
- City Parking Garage next to the Galaxy movie theater
- Bottom level of the Deco Apartments, handicap-accessible parking is available
Free Rib Cook-Off Shuttles: Street and garage parking in and around Victorian Square is in extremely short supply during the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off. Consider public transportation or Nugget’s FREE shuttle service running as follows:
- Wednesday, Aug. 31 to Sunday, Sept. 4 shuttles run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 5 shuttles available from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sparks Christian Fellowship, 510 Greenbrae Drive, Sparks
- Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, 1350 N. Wells Avenue in Reno.
