The City of Sparks, in collaboration with the State of Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) through the State of Nevada Energy Assistance, is participating in a state program that offers assistance for low-income residents by reducing wastewater costs. Applications are accepted through Sept. 30, 2023, or as long as funds remain available.
Eligible customers in the City of Sparks apply online for energy assistance through Water/Sewer Assistance Program (WASP) and, if approved, WASP administers the funds directly to the customer’s sewer account as a one-time benefit. The application serves as a release of information allowing DWSS to contact participating agencies to obtain information necessary to complete an eligibility determination including a review of the prior 12 months of water and/or sewer usage and process deposit.
Details on eligibility and to apply are available online at the DWSS website for https://dwss.nv.gov/Energy/Water_and_Sewer_Assistance/.
Applications are only accepted through the state.
