Thousands of people and 86 entries packed into the staging areas off Pyramid Way and Victorian Ave. to brave the winter weather and participate in the 35th Annual Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade.
The event, held on Saturday, December 3, was attended by an estimated crowd of 10,000.
During the parade, each parade entrant was judged for theme – Merry and Bright! - plus originality, personality, and presentation.
The judging categories were: Best Over-all, Best Business Group, Best Animal Group, Best Community Group, and Best Animal Group.
2022 Winners:
Best Business Group: Bonanza Casino
Best Animal Group: Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H Club
Best Community Group: TIE between Hot August Nights and Sons & Daughters of Erin
Best Performing Group: TIE between Danza Guadalupana and Danza Azteca Guadalupana
Best Overall: Silver Knolls Spurs 4-H Club
The winners will be recognized at a future Sparks City Council meeting.
