City of Sparks Storm and Response Update

SPARKS, Nev. (March 10, 2023) According to the National Weather Service – Reno, the anticipated rainfall expected from the atmospheric river event has decreased due to the storm moving south. The City of Sparks is monitoring weather conditions at this time. However, rain may continue to remain a concern for areas that are subject to ponding and slow drainage. Residents are asked to ensure drains are clear and to report any needs for service to the city through the My Sparks mobile app or by calling 775-353-2231.

As a reminder, the City of Sparks has set up four sandbag locations for residents and businesses located at:

  • Cottonwood Park at 777 Spice Island Dr.
  • 399 Coney Island Dr.
  • Silver State International at 2255 Larkin Way
  • Shadow Mountain Park Complex at 3300 Sparks Blvd.
The stations are self-serve and will not be staffed; be sure to bring a shovel to fill the bags.
